When used effectively, social media can reach thousands, even millions of people on a daily basis.
When growing your network marketing company, it is important to take advantage of social media’s benefits and communication capabilities.
For example, according to Statista, there are 2.62 billion social media users in the world. These platforms undoubtedly provide incredible reach potential. You have to make connections with people, and this is how it should be done.
First Off, Create a Business Profile
To ensure social media success, you DO NOT want to convert your personal social media into a business account.
You may be thinking, “Well, I have all of these followers already. I’ll be off to a good start!”
That is completely opposite of what will happen. The problem is that your family and friends are connected with you on social media—and they most likely do not want their timeline to be filled with your sales and products.
Sure, you may recruit two or three family and friends to jump on board. However, you want to grow your audience organically. You want people to find your profile out of genuine curiosity and interest—not because they want to help you out as a friendly gesture. These people will not stick to business in the long run.
Starting with 0 followers or friends is tough, but if you do social media right, your following will grow and so will your team.
Avoid Generic Sales Pitches
The Internet allows people access to heaps of information, and each one of them are searching for personable.
Gone are the days when people appealed to catchy slogans, scripted segments and generated messages that everybody received.
When people are looking into a product or an idea, they want a story. They want to feel as if they are a part of something unique. That is why you must avoid making your social media posts look like ads and infomercials, clogged with links and robotic sounding messages.
You must share your success story and report on other peoples experiences. You must create captivating photos and videos that incite motivation and courage in people. Ultimately, you want to rally them to join your team and show your target market what they are missing out on.
Remove Company Name From Your Social Media Profiles
People will not stick around if your profile looks like a giant advertisement. This is why removing the network marketing company’s logo and name from your social media profiles is important.
As mentioned before, you want your profile to look as personable as possible. You are branding yourself and encouraging people to join YOUR team.
Your social media profile for an MLM company should not look like a billboard, but rather a true-life depiction of the benefits of joining the company offers.
Removing the company logo from your posts will prevent people from leaving your site and googling the company instead. They will be interested, want more, and reach out to you for more information.
Let the product and opportunities sell themselves. Overwhelming your audience will not cause them to stick around, they will find more original content elsewhere.
Choose the Right Profile Picture
Your social media profile photo is most likely the first thing viewers will see. You want people to associate your face with the success that your network marketing company offers.
To do this, ensure that you are in your profile photo. Do not use the company logo, a stock image or a photo of your pet. Place your smiling face on the top of your page to warmly welcome your visitors. Prospects are more likely to identify with a personal, human image rather than a generic photo that looks like all the rest.
Optimize Your ‘About’ Section
Your social media profiles have the ‘about’ section for a reason. You want to let people know why they should join your team, and how it will change their life.
To do this, avoid “sales pitchy” sounding ‘about’ sections such as, “Follow me and learn how you can become a millionaire in just three years!” People will go, “Three YEARS?! That’s WAY too long!”
Instead, you want them to be intrigued by your success, and curious about your process of achieving that success. Share your personal story, let them know how joining the network marketing company changed your life and brought you money and happiness.
Beat around the bush a bit and leave them with questions. They will most likely contact you!
Final Thoughts
Social media is the best way to share your story and get people on board. People see enough advertisements in their day-to-day doings. Don’t make your social media another platform full of meaningless propaganda!
Take advantage of it’s opportunities, share your photos, write your inspirational stories, and encourage people to share their story with you!
