I have struggled with my health for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my immune system was weak. I got sick at the drop of a hat. If anyone around me had a cold or infection, I had an 80% chance of catching it. It was miserable. I battled with a weak immune system throughout high school. I would frequent the doctor’s office often and I had a number of tests done. I often left doctors stumped with my symptoms; there were times I was even misdiagnosed. It was a roller coaster for me — never knowing what was wrong, even after visiting several medical professionals. However, I learned to live with my symptoms, ignore my pain, and embrace life as much as I could.
Then in March 2018, I hit rock bottom. I was visiting the ER at least once or twice per month. Doctors eventually determined that my gallbladder needed to be removed. I was terrified. I was cautioned by doctors that anytime there is a surgery on the stomach, infection is possible. They informed me that even after my gallbladder removal, my symptoms may not improve. I was in constant pain and I felt I had no other option, so I went through with the surgery and had my gallbladder removed.
Days after my surgery, I developed IBS symptoms. I couldn’t digest food properly, and I lost 20 pounds in just 6 weeks. I couldn’t eat or drink anything without feeling pain. It was the scariest thing I’ve ever faced in my life. I honestly thought I was dying and if I didn’t get well soon, then my body would shut down from the amount of weight I was losing — and I was losing it fast.
Doctors ran tests and found nothing. In fact, they said that my results were some of the best they’d seen. They only said that I have gastritis and esophagitis. I thought, “Ok good, at least now I have a diagnosis, I can work with that.” I changed my diet, started on a number of supplements, and did what I could to eliminate stress. Though some of the new supplements I started taking helped, I continued to feel pain after eating anything and I continued to lose weight.
Again, I felt there was something wrong and traditional doctors weren’t finding it. A couple months later, I was still in pain. I remember hearing my mother-in-law talking about a new product she had just started taking: CBD oil. She mentioned how it helped with her insomnia, and even with her pain. She suggested I take some to see if it would help with my issues. I reluctantly tried it, thinking, ‘I can’t possibly feel worse than I do now. What’s the worst that could happen?’
Within 30 minutes of taking my first dose of CBD oil, I began to feel relief in my stomach and esophagus. My pain slowly started to dissolve. I couldn’t believe it. The next morning, I felt well rested. For the first time, in a long time, I had slept throughout the night without an ounce of discomfort. It was mind blowing. CBD oil was an answered prayer fo me. I not only felt relief, I felt hope.
I slowly started to bounce back and regain my energy. My diet changed as well, and little by little, I’ve been able to reintroduce different foods to my diet. Although I can’t eat everything I used to, I’ve been able to add a lot of variety to what I can eat. My immune system has improved as well: I can be around others that have the common cold and not be affected by them. It has been life changing for me.
I began to research and learn more about CBD and all things Cannabis. I wanted to know what I was taking and how it affected my body. The information I came across blew me away. In-depth medical studies documented just how effective CBD is for people who suffer from a number of medical issues. In my research, I discovered that people are using CBD to find relief from all sorts of symptoms: inflammation, pain, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and more.
In the end, CBD has changed my life. My overall health and energy have improved. I’m able to tolerate more foods. And I’ve achieved a quality of life that I dreamed about just months ago. Now, I encourage others who are struggling with their health to give CBD a try. It’s all-natural and doesn’t have the side effects of pharmaceutical drugs.
